Magma V2.21-10 Patch Notes

Patch release for Magma V2.21-10. Updated areas: Aggregates, Algebraic Curves, Finite Fields, LLL Reduction, Matrices and 2 more.

Aggregates

  • A crash when merging sets with unusual universes has been fixed. Reported by T. Feng.

Algebraic Curves

  • A runtime error for certain examples of RegularModel has been fixed. Reported by A. Sutherland.
  • An internal error in GapNumbers given a divisor and a place of a curve has been fixed.

Finite Fields

  • A crash which would sometimes arise when creating a large lattice of finite fields of the same characteristic has been fixed. There is also a general speedup when many default fields of the same characteristic are created in succession.

LLL Reduction

  • An occasional error with precision at the 53-bit cusp was fixed. Reported by M. Kirschmer.

Matrices

Number Fields

  • An internal error in ClassNumber($D$) for $D$ in the sieve range has been fixed. Note: there was no error for ClassGroup, etc.
  • A runtime error in the map returned by PicardGroup in some cases has been fixed. Reported by S. Marseglia.

p-adic Matrices

  • A problem with precision when computing determinants of p-adic matrices was fixed.
