Magma V2.12-22 Patch Notes
Patch release for Magma V2.12-22. Updated areas: Cyclotomic Fields, Groebner Bases, Group Algebras, Groups, Integers and 6 more.
Cyclotomic Fields¶
- A bug preventing norm equations in cyclotomic fields working has been fixed. The old version would return a User Error.
Groebner Bases¶
- Some bugs in computing Groebner Bases for very large ideals have been fixed. Report by M. Grassl.
Group Algebras¶
- A missing check in
MinimalPolynomialhas been installed.
Groups¶
- A missing check in
RandomSchreierfor matrix groups that made the order of GL trivial has been installed. Bug reported by Eamonn O'Brien. - A bug that caused crashes in
MaximalSubgroupsandSubgroupswhen applied to 3-dimensional unitary groups has been fixed. Bug reported by Markus Grassl & Peter Müller. - A bug that gave the message
"bad data after rewriting"when dealing with finitely presented groups has been fixed.
Integers¶
- A bug in
CoprimeBasisthat would result in the LCM of the sequence elements to change was fixed. Bug reported by W. Bosma.
Lie Algebras¶
- Two errors relating to the construction of highest weight modules for Lie alegbras have been fixed.
Number Fields¶
- A bug in
IsIsomorphicthat caused the function to wrongly return false for badly conditioned input (fields defined by polynomials with very large constant term) has been fixed. - A bug in the Galois package caused
GalFactGroupto trigger internal errors on trivial input has been fixed. - A bug in the factorisation of ideals in number fields that in rare circumstances, depending on bad randomisation, would return wrong factorisation, has been fixed. This bug was reported by J. Quer.
Polynomial Rings¶
InverseModhas been fixed to do automatic coercion on its arguments.
Quadratic Fields¶
- A bug in
LCMandBiquadraticResidueSymbolfor certain quadratic fields has been fixed. The old version would trigger internal errors. - A bug preventing norm equations in quadratic fields working has been fixed. The old version would return a User Error.
- A problem in the handling of non-cyclic class groups of quadratic fields has been fixed. The old version would have issued an internal error in certain cases.
- A problem with the conversion from quadratic forms in non-maximal orders to ideals has been fixed. The old version would return non-sensical and inconsistent ideals that would typically trigger internal errors.
Real and Complex Fields¶
- A bug in
jInvarianthas been fixed. Bug reported by Jennifer Balakrishnan.
System¶
- Crashes occuring after out-of-memory errors have been fixed.
