Magma V2.10-13 Patch Notes
Patch release for Magma V2.10-13. Updated areas: Commutative Algebra, Groups, Lie Theory, Rings and Fields.
Commutative Algebra¶
- A bug in the computation of Gröbner bases over Euclidean rings (where some critical pairs where ignored) has been fixed.
Groups¶
- A long-standing bug in Jeff Leon's PERM package that occasionally caused centralizer and element conjugacy calculations in large degree permutation groups to crash has been fixed. Reported by M. Grassl, E. O'Brien and others.
Lie Theory¶
- The function
RightAdjointAction, which returns the right adjoint action of an element on a Lie algebra, has been made more efficient.
Rings and Fields¶
- A bug that prevented
UnitEquationfrom ever finding solutions that lie in the maximal order, but not in the equation order, has been fixed. - Coercion of cyclotomic field elements into the real numbers was broken.
- The extended GCD of polynomials over local rings and fields has now been fixed to return useful results.
- The function
ValuationsOfRootsfor polynomials over local rings now returns the correct result. - Relative norm equations considered over imaginary quadratic fields where the right hand side is a unit had a problem which has now been fixed.
- The function
AutomorphismGroupfor quadratic cyclotomic fields now works. - Roots of series and polynomials over series rings over inexact fields are handled better.
- Improvements to
DuvalPuiseuxExpansionover inexact fields have been made. - Slopes of a modular form has been fixed. It will now again return multiple valuations with the correct signs. It will accept the new p-adic fields.
- Two bugs in polynomial factorization have been fixed.
